Tauranga Boxing Academy

By utilising boxing, physical fitness and mentoring, the Tauranga Boxing Academy (TBA) instils core values and physical and mental well-being in a safe and inclusive environment. With ongoing support, the TBA empowers members to be the best they can be in all aspects of their life.

Overview

The TBA is an after-school programme, delivered by fitness experts and teachers assisted by volunteers who also serve as successful, positive role models for our members.

Along with boxing, physical fitness and mentoring, there is also considerable emphasis on personal and community well-being, with members provided opportunities to engage in community events. These events allow rangatahi to develop strong connections with each other and the TBA trainers, establishing a supportive family atmosphere where all whānau are welcome.

This holistic approach includes working with whānau, schools, community organisations, NZ Police and local businesses. Integration with our other Bay of Plenty Youth Development Trust programmes enables us to offer complete wraparound support.
